"Confidently doubting towards the future"
In introducing Landscapology's Amalie Wright, LandLAB's Henry Crothers said she probably had the best title of the day - "Confidently doubting towards the future" and her 2018 NZILA Firth Conference presentation started with her childhood and the big influence water had in her early years in the sugar growing area of Mackay in Queensland.
Amalie is Director of Landscapology, a Brisbane-based design studio committed to achieving positive change through good design. Registered as both a landscape architect and architect Amalie brings a broad perspective to her work. Her book Future Park: imagining tomorrow’s urban parks, was commissioned by CSIRO Publishing and she speaks regularly on the topics of parks, public spaces and integrated urban stormwater.
In addition to her practice, Amalie tutors in landscape and architecture design at the Queensland University of Technology, regularly mentors candidates and sits on the assessment panels for landscape architectural registration in Queensland. She is a former member of the Board, and is currently Queensland President of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. You can see Amalie's full conference presentation below.
