The president of the International Federation of Landscape Architects believes New Zealand is one of three world hotspots for landscape architecture. James Hayter says Aotearoa joins Chile and the south of Spain, adding there are many lessons the landscape architecture community can learn from the profession here.

He says in New Zealand and Australia the profession is thriving and has “ emerged from the umbrella of architecture.”

James Hayter’s practice, Oxigen, has been strongly involved with Tonsley, the former Mitsubishi Plant in Adelaide.
